Fred Weber is committed to preserving the environment through our dedication to compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations and through our continual efforts to minimize our impacts on our environment and make our operations more sustainable. We have been recognized at the state and national level for our efforts in preserving the environment. Most recently, our Bluff City Minerals facility in Alton, Illinois was awarded the 2014 “Certificate” of Achievement in Environmental Excellence by the Illinois Association of Aggregate Producers (IAAP).

- Fred Weber, Inc. has invested in extensive dust control systems to protect the environment. Our products, such as crushed stone, are used to control air emissions from power plants and other industrial sources.
- Fred Weber works diligently to conserve and protect valuable water resources both for human consumption and aquatic habitats. Our products are used in water supply and wastewater treatment, as well as in public works infrastructure.
- Fred Weber, Inc. realizes the removal of aggregates temporarily disturbs the landscape. However, once the materials have been extracted, Fred Weber reclaims the land into wetlands, wildlife habitats, parks and many other beneficial purposes.
Did you know...
the asphalt industry reuses and recycles nearly 100 million tons of its own product every year? The use of reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) reduces the carbon footprint of road building and also saves landfill space. With reclaimed asphalt pavements, the old binder in the road is reactivated, reducing the need for virgin asphalt cement.
