LEED

Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design

As part of our environmental commitment, Fred Weber, Inc. and its subsidiary, Crown Excel Disposal have initiated a LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) program to assist various companies and institutions with LEED compliance. As the single transporter of materials on any given project, the reporting of quantities, materials and end destinations is easily achieved. A monthly or quarterly report can be generated to provide all pertinent details of what resources were recycled, reused or land filled.

Crown Excel Disposal offers waste stream audits for any size or type of business. This increasingly popular service includes a full analysis of the waste and recycle streams generated at your facility. As part of this extensive study, Crown Excel can provide customers with a spreadsheet of data in addition to photos of the material collected.

Once a waste stream audit is complete, they also offer suggestions on how to enhance and improve diversion in order to reach even the most aggressive recycling goals. For the most comprehensive LEED service available, they offer this audit and analysis and include completion of the required USGBC credit forms. All of these services are provided under the management of their staff of LEED professionals.

The Green Building System 2.0 is a point system derived by the US Green Builders council and is intended for use by commercial building stake holders or project team members as a guideline for green and sustainable design.

The point system grades a project on several diverse areas. Points are acquired by compliance and as a result the buildings become:

  • Certified—26-32 Points
  • Silver—33-38 Points
  • Gold—39-57 Points
  • Platinum—58-69 Points

Builders are given recognition and incentives to achieve these goals. Submittal systems are required prior-Construction Waste Management Plan as well as post-Construction Waste Management reports upon completion.
