FWI Recognized for Solid Waste Leadership by MWCC
David Bryant, General Manager for Waste Services at Crown Excel Disposal accepted the award on behalf of Fred Weber, Inc.
On Tuesday, June 22, Fred Weber, Inc. received an Outstanding Achievement Award for Solid Waste Leadership during the annual meeting of the Missouri Waste Control Coalition (MWCC). David Bryant, General Manager for Waste Services, received the award on behalf of the company.
Fred Weber was recognized with respect to its improved solid waste management practices not only by the MWCC, but also by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources and its peers.
The MWCC is a not-for-profit state-wide organization consisting of citizens, businesses and organizations concerned about the environment and the proper management and disposal of generated wastes.
To have qualified for this award, an organization must have demonstrated exceptional leadership, achieved operational improvements and have gone beyond the call of civic duty and/or community involvement.
There were numerous factors that contributed to FWI receiving the award.
A few deciding factors included:
- Methane to Megawatts Project with Ameren
- Electronic Compliance Management System
- Use of hybrid vehicles
- Corporate recycling initiatives
