Another subsidiary is Bluff City Minerals. It’s a more than 200-acre limestone mine that produces 2 million tons of crushed limestone aggregate per year and is the largest underground mining operation in a 200-mile radius.

With a staff of 55 people, the mine operates 24/7 during the busy construction season. Bluff City employs proven, low-cost mining and processing methods, using state-of-the-art equipment.

Since we acquired Quality Sand and Bluff City Minerals, both located in Illinois, we are ready to expand our construction work into that state. By using our own materials, we can perform more efficiently and cost effectively.

Putting It to Good Use

This high-quality limestone aggregate is used in all types of concrete, ready-mix applications from bridge and road building to commercial and residential developments. It’s also suitable for asphalt production.

On site, we supply two large tenants, located at the Bluff City site, with aggregate so you can acquire:

  • Ready-mix Concrete
  • Hot Mix Asphalt

Working Hard to Be a Good Neighbor

To show respect for the communities in which we work, we always try to keep our operations neat and presentable. We are concerned about such issues as dust and noise and the overall effects our sites have on their surroundings.

As a result of our efforts, we recently received “The About Face” award from the National Stone, Sand and Gravel Association. The About Face Program recognizes and rewards aggregate producers who have made constructive and positive efforts to enhance the aesthetic appearance of their operations.
